Description

The Outreach & Communications Coordinator will create the Seven Canyons Trust’s Outreach & Communications Plan and implement associated strategy.

Tasks

  • Assist with development and implementation of the Outreach & Communications Plan and associated strategy; 

  • Manage and draft content for social media, website, blog, and newsletter; 

  • Schedule and host outreach tabling events, and develop engaging, creative materials and activities; 

  • Assist with coordination, logistics, and implementation of fundraising events and programming; 

  • Assist with grant writing, development, and fundraising activities.

  • Expand community engagement and collaboration with partners and stakeholders; 

  • Expand awareness of the Seven Canyons Trust and the importance and value of its mission; and 

  • Other tasks and assignments as needed and within the position’s capacity.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in complementary field, including but not limited to urban planning, environmental science, or communications.

  • Knowledge of and experience with social media platforms (Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram) and emerging trends with content and engagement across platforms.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills working with partners, donors, and constituents.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Experience with Adobe Creative Cloud and Squarespace (or other website management software) is preferred.

  • Ability to lift loads of up to 50 pounds and walk or roll distances of up to five miles outside in variable weather and conditions is preferred.

  • Experience with event planning, marketing, volunteer management, and community engagement is preferred.

  • Grant writing, fundraising, and nonprofit development experience preferred.

  • Must be creative, detail-oriented, and highly organized with strong time management skills.

  • Ability to self-motivate, prioritize, and problem solve is necessary.

  • Spanish fluency is desirable.

  • Valid Driver’s License is required. Access to a personal vehicle or ability to easily navigate via public transit or active transportation is preferred.

Time & Compensation

The Outreach & Communications Coordinator will be a full-time, exempt position. Compensation will be $31,200/year. Benefits include healthcare and retirement stipends, computer and phone reimbursements, and generous paid personal leave and vacation time.

This is a remote position but must be located in Utah. Preference will be given to individuals located in Salt Lake County. Schedules are flexible between Monday and Friday with occasional weekends and evenings. Local and regional travel will be required.
