Grant from Lush Cosmetics for Herman Franks Park project
Authored by Brian Tonetti
A grant from Lush Cosmetics will fund the design master plan to daylight Emigration Creek at Herman Franks Park. The document will advance implementation of the project with a well-design deliverable to share with engaged community members, municipal partners, and potential funding sources.
We are excited to announce a $20,000 grant from Lush Cosmetics. Funds will be used to create the Herman Franks Park Emigration Creek Vision. The Herman Franks Park project seeks to uncover over 1,000 feet of Emigration Creek, around the perimeter of the park, to supplement and enhance the current uses—without disrupting them at all.
The document will contain a problem statement, research to support implementation of the project, public comments, a phased-design approach and renderings, cost estimates, and potential funding sources. A sound scientific basis is important to establish a comprehensive statement of the problem and case for implementation. Efforts will solicit community support from Salt Lake City residents to urge elected officials to support investment in the project, as well as share the vision with interested community members. Ultimately, the Herman Franks Park Emigration Creek Vision will become a tool to advance implementation of the project.
