Dominion Energy grant for My Canyon Creeks

Authored by Brian Tonetti

Dominion Energy provided a grant through their Environmental Stewardship program to expand the My Canyon Creeks website series. Seven new websites will create a watershed-sized scope within Salt Lake County, UT.

We are excited to announce a $20,000 grant from Dominion Energy’s Environmental Stewardship program to fund seven new websites in the My Canyon Creeks series (MyCityCreek.org, MyRedButteCreek.org, MyEmigrationCreek.org, MyParleysCreek.org, MyMillCreek.org, MyBigCottonwoodCreek.org, and MyLittleCottonwoodCreek.org). They serve as interactive maps to delineate where waterways flow, areas of public access, restoration sites, and details of recreational activities. Users can submit educational interpretative stops to enhance water quality, visibility, and community stewardship. Additionally, users can utilize “Report an Issue” to report watershed and water quality concerns, such as erosion, water pollution, graffiti, and trash.
