1,500 trees were planted at the Mill Creek Confluence, in partnership with TreeUtah and Hawkwatch International to improve habitat value and increase site stewardship. Additionally, an American kestrel nestbox was installed on-site as part of the American Kestrel Study.

In partnership with TreeUtah and Hawkwatch International, 1,500 trees were planted at the Mill Creek Confluence through Mark Miller Subaru’s Project Oxygen program to improve Salt Lake Valley’s poor air quality. Mark Miller Subaru plants a tree for every car sold. Seventy-five volunteers joined to plant seedlings of coyote willow, Fremont cottonwood, Gardner's saltbush, golden currant, peachleaf willow, and Woods' rose. Efforts restored habitat value and biodiversity, as well as increased site stewardship.

Hawkwatch installed an American kestrel box on-site. Efforts are a part of the American Kestrel Study, a citizen science effort to better understand the causes behind declines of the species. Volunteers will monitor this box to provide a glimpse into landscape-specific reproduction and survival. Data will be used to model relationships between nesting performance and environmental factors at the continental scale.
