Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation grant for Seven Creeks | Walk Series

Authored by Brian Tonetti

The Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation will support the Seven Creeks | Walk Series through the Utah Children’s Outdoor Recreation & Education Grant program. Programming will organize walking conversations, environmental education, and collaborative service-oriented action along the seven creeks of the Salt Lake Valley.

We are excited to announce $10,000 in funding from the Utah Division of Outdoor Recreation’s Utah Children’s Outdoor Recreation & Education Grant for our Seven Creeks | Walk Series. Funding will introduce youth to the wonders of nature in their backyard, getting outside in healthy, meaningful outdoor recreation and activity. The watershed-based education curriculum teaches students science and art-based Utah Core Standards and hands-on experiential learning through stewardship and ecosystem restoration work, including invasive plant removal, native habitat plantings, and trash clean-ups.

To get involved, sign up under the “Participate” tab at the program webpage: sevencanyonstrust.org/seven-creeks-walk-series.
